...loves the fact that when she is completly bluntly honest-people can't take the truth....the truth hurts doesn't it?

current mood: well!
current song: the pause music of a game on my brother's new Xbox 360

I'm home in Toowoomba for Christmas. Just had this exchange with my sister:

Elizabeth: Did you see what the toaster did to me?
Me: Did it give you a kiss?
Elizabeth: (showing me her thumb) No! It burned me!
Me: That's how toasters kiss.
Elizabeth: But...it burned me!
Me: Yeah...with love.
Elizabeth: Oh.
(pause)
Elizabeth: Love hurts.

So while everyone is posting their stupid ass presents on the internet (twitter, factbook, livejournal) Lee & I chose to not do any real presents. He got me one thing, and I got him one thing but instead we each donated $500.00 to a charity of our choice. I chooset he Caboodle cat ranch, and he choose the Montgomery County Humane society. Next week for new ears I am going to send $200 to the ASPCA.

Now..that is what christmas is about...seriously-it's soo fucking pathetic reading that bullshit...

how about you use your money more wisely....

New Years Resolution! (one week early)

current mood: resolute
current song: my sister is telling me something about "Beautician and the Beast"

I'm cleaning out pieces of paper*, trying to lighten my load before I go to Brisbane for a month of filming, and found a list of movies that [info]katydidinoz said that I had to see.

*for that is what I choose to do with my Christmas Eve.

Partially so I have a record and can throw out the piece of paper, and partially for the fun of it, I'm making my New Years Resolution to watch the following films:

  • Million Dollar Baby
  • Mystic River
  • Gran Torino
  • Unforgiven
  • Changeling

This time next year (or one week and one year away, anyway) I resolve to have seen all of those films.

Let's make this interactive: comment with a list of your personal "must see" movies, and any that I haven't seen, I'll add to the list.

A new playlist and some to-do!

Two things:

Firstly, all of the Dear Peter/Dear Gavin videos that myself, my cousin Gavin ([info]poxy_report) and my sister Elizabeth ([info]eldaisy) have been doing can me found in one handy playlist:

(if you're watching for the first time; don't worry, they get much shorter and much better after the first 2)

Secondly: A few weeks back, I posted a "to-do" list. I thought I'd update on what I have and haven't done from that, for my own sake as much as for yours.

  1. (ideally) Finish the ImproACT editing that I've been doing. Not finished, but pretty close to. I'm probably going to polish this off before I leave town on Saturday.
  2. Write four episodes of the YouTube sitcom I'm filming with Gavin next year. Fuuuuck. Haven't even had a chance to look at this. We're driving from Canberra up to Toowoomba (southern Queensland) - I plan to spend the entire car trip writing.
  3. Pack all of my worldly possessions. About half done, and my family is down, so we'll be polishing the other half off tonight.
  4. Finish a whole heap of stuff at work. 90% done - there have been complications, but I've been staying late most days, and I am confident I will be up to date on this before I finish.
  5. Go shopping for pants and shoes with a friend o' mine. I am wearing those pants and shoes as we speak! I still need shorts, but I don't think that'll happen before I leave, alas.
  6. Update my livejournal every day. Yeah, that didn't happen.
  7. Mail Gavin the editing software that I promised to mail him. Mailed! He has been heartily using it to make videos, which you can find here.
  8. Rewatch the last two episodes of Lost season 4. Not yet, but I should get a chance on Thursday or Friday this week.
  9. Complete Secret Project AP. Done! The nature of the project changed, but it was completed nonetheless!
  10. Book a trailer to take my stuff from here to Melbourne. Done!
  11. Book storage space in Melbourne. Done! (technically by Dad, but done nonetheless)
  12. Have my "going away" party. Done!
  13. Organise a board game night. Due to conflicting schedules, this was cancelled...though thinking about it, I might be able to organise it for this week some time. I'll make some calls tonight.
  14. Meet up with a girl I went out with a few times to get some DVDs back. Done! (she came to my party)
  15. Disassemble all my furniture in preparation for Melbourne. Doing tonight!
  16. Change my address on all 500 things that you need to change your address on when you move. Completely forgot about this. Will start tomorrow.
  17. Book my Practical test for my motorbike licence. I've been trying to, but they don't seem to like answering their phone.
  18. Actually pass my test for my motorbike licence. Dependent on the previous item.
  19. Decide what to do with all my old clothes. Donated to charity!
  20. Either cancel or postpone all of my regular monthly payments that I won't be able to afford while I'm temporarily unemployed. Haven't found the time to do so yet.
  21. Perform in 2 more impro shows, and go to all the relevant rehearsals. Done!
  22. Square any debts I have to my housemates. Will probably do this on the last day that I'm there.
  23. Use up the last of the Canberra-related vouchers I've acquired during my time here. Done! (if you replace "use up" with "lose".)

So that's where I am at the moment! What's your to-do list looking like?
